I'm talking about stuff like Jacks 2/99 tacos, boxed mash potatoes, fake crab meat. I guess it's out there with I can't believe it's not butter. :lol3
I do Jacks tacos about twice a month and sometimes I just get in the mood for the boxed Idaho potatoes. I do draw the line with the fake crab though. I wait for a good sale on the clusters and then bag up 2 clusters to each bag and freeze them.
If I was going to be stranded on a deserted island with only one common fast food place. I'd go taco bell but I want the old taco bell of the 80's.

I'd go taco bell but I want the old taco bell of the 80's. Those super deep fried crispy flour tortilla tacos... I think they dropped those right after they went to their $0.59 menu stuff, mid 80s maybe. Although they were kinda the first in the fast food industry to have a value menu which was great for me at the time since I could afford to eat again (tough years for me). And they still had normal sized hot sauce container; those little cups, not those annoying packets.

Bell Burgers. (I guess they called them the Bell Beefer but I remember Bell Burgers.) Enchiritos. Yeah, the burgers. Those are gone. But they still make the enchirito. I try not to eat any of this stuff anymore. It used to be a matter of convenience, especially when I was on the road for hours on end everyday. Now it's just occasional laziness. However I did eat at Chick Fil A for the first time ever the other night, being lazy. Here's my impression of the food (I had chicken strips): They took some uninspiring chicken, very lightly breaded it in flour, and fried it. I wasn't impressed.

They still have Enchiritos? I didn't know that. I used to reallllllly like the Beefy Tostada. That was a staple of mine when I was younger. I loved loved loved it, but then they stopped making it and I don't know why. It was the best thing they ever offered. My life now is incomplete without it.

I'm all about the burrito supreme but it has to have extra sour cream. Thing is they've changed it so much over the years it's no longer the meal I ate EVERY day (except weekends) for 2 years.

Taco Bell never had much of a pull on me, except in high school when one of my friends worked there and I'd get free food. Free food always tastes better. I don't think I've been to a TB in at least 10 years.
I don't eat JITB tacos, but they still hold a soft spot in my heart. In my college days I used to date this girl whose favorite meal in the world was JITB tacos. I'd offer to take her anywhere for dinner, and it was always, JITB tacos! She was also a huge fan of Annie Green Springs wine so she was a very cheap date. I could then use the saved money to buy myself better beer.
My main fast food craving is Popeye's spicy chicken. Fortunately for my arteries there isn't one close to home.

Has anyone eaten any of the prepared, hot food at a 7-11? I've never tried it so I can't diss it, but I have an aversion to hot food from a convenience store. It brings me back to the starving student days of getting a couple of those odd burgers at AM/PM for a buck. It's definitely priced right for the budget-conscious.
One thing I did try and found pretty good is the 7-11 brand of "fresh-baked" cookies that come three to a pack for about a $1.50. That's another thing that fortunately wasn't being sold in my stoner days.

Having once worked at a convenience store (aka a Stop 'n Rob) for several months, I wouldn't touch anything produced in one. You're supposed to have a food handlers permit to sell such things, but a lot of places don't bother since it's not widely enforced. Not that it matters, really.

IDK I'm thinking back in my stoner days the food crawling my direction might have been a plus. Aside from that I VERY rarely even stop in convenience stores but I have been curious about the 7/11 lg pizza and a few other things I've noticed taped to the window while I'm waiting out the light. Oh I don't know if 7/11 still carries it but Ramona's hand made burritos (lot of choices, my favs are chili rellano, bean and cheese or just cheese) is a food I could live forever on. Crap now I'm craving one! BTW they do sell them at Smart and Final.

I've eaten some pretty raunchy things in my time, not being a cook or interested in cooking much...., but even I NEVER eat these: UGH!

My main fast food craving is Popeye's spicy chicken. Fortunately for my arteries there isn't one close to home. Popeye's are rare enough around here that I've only indulged their goodies a few times that I can recall. The only thing that stands out is/was their reluctance to give me a decent supply of sauces. And they had gravy on the menu, but they wouldn't sell it separately or something? I just remember being baffled by this behavior last time I was there, and it was all so matter-of-fact; "Sorry, the gravy only comes with _____", as if for the protection of the public. Ummmm, ok. So like if I try to dunk a chicken strip into the gravy, there's a chance I'll create dark matter and wipe out the universe?

I have never tried Popeye's chicken, how does it compare to KC? Dry... because they won't give you enough sauces. Don't even ask about the gravy. The Colonel wouldn't treat people like that.
