A few years back I started making veggie smoothies every morning. Various greens, flax seed, etc. Over time the mixture has gotten healthier as I've gotten used to the taste. Now it's normally chock full of kale, broccoli, dandelion greens, ginger, lemon, flax, blueberries, etc. Not a taste treat by any stretch but no matter what else I pig out on that day I know I've gotten all my greens. Here's my problem: The first thing I think when I concoct something new to eat is "how can I add some butter or salt to this?" which renders the healthy part into oblivion. To me, just seeing the word broccoli in there makes me think it's going to need about a stick of butter minimum and then get salted to taste.

Me gusta una buena asade carne con frijoles y arroz. Oh yeah? So like 'bertos stuff or the real deal from marbled beef lomo? (btw you don't really need indefinite articles in Spanish like you do in English and modifiers usually follow the nouns)

That's why I drink this in the morning when my taste buds aren't fully awake and I can get the healthy shit out of the way. That way if I do eat crap later in the day I can at least offer myself the poor rationalization that I had a quart-sized very healthy breakfast. It makes the trips to Carnitas Snack Shack a little more guilt-free. Besides, if I didn't do this, no way could I justify what I spent on a Vitamix.

How can anyone "argue" about food?!

Personally, I like a freshly juiced carrot/ginger/lemon blend. Gooooood stuff. OM Sounds good, but "freshly" sounds like you have a juicer. I commend you for your effort if you do, but I'm waaaaay lazy, especially in the morning. edit: Do you do the peels on the lemons? I saw that on some show or youtube or something. I usually save the peels for zest. OM

How can anyone "argue" about food?! Tell me that aioli isn't just mayonnaise with a fancier name (or that either are edible).

Tell me that aioli isn't just mayonnaise with a fancier name (or that either are edible). I LOVE mayo. I buy Best Foods Lite and I don't know why but Mayo hits a good spot in me....

After decades of throwing post-slaughter pumpkin guts straight into the trashcan, I finally decided to toast the seeds from this year's victims. They were actually good. Who would've ever thought pumpkins were edible?

Whatta ya expect from 'Murica? While the 3rd world starves, we cut scary faces into harvest food, and let it all sit on our front porches till they rot.
Oh BTW, I've been going thru a coconut water kick lately, but don't hold it against me. Kinda refreshing.

We made happy faces to promote world peace. But they're already rotting. I guess it's a sign on the times.

Oh BTW, I've been going thru a coconut water kick lately, but don't hold it against me. Kinda refreshing. OM Bolthouse (the company that makes the carrot juice I like) has some sort of coconut offering but it's probably way too sweet for my tastes. I prefer those "essence"-y water type things like you're probably talking about. But something about coconut flavor always makes me think it needs a splash of rum and that doesn't work out if you're trying to drink it for breakfast.
